The Rundown: The couple barely escapes a dangerous ritual only to discover that its power runs deeper than they imagined.
Pine and Merrimac interrupt the ritual sacrifice of a powerful sect and barely escape using only their wits and skills. In the aftermath, they discover that their identities have been revealed to the group and returning home will be dangerous.
The pair decide that they need more information. Information they can only get by going back. Linnea discovers that there is something darker at work inside this cult and learns that their power has a long history. When her husband arrives with the police to stop the latest sacrifice, they will both discover just how powerful this cult really is.
The Story: Starks continues to craft an engaging and entertaining mystery in this issue. Not only do I continue to love the characters, but I love the resourcefulness and bond between them. The story has a wonderful sense of humor and romance between the couple and the final moments of the issue hit me emotionally by creating a cliffhanger that left me reeling and wanting answers.
The Art: Galan delivers beautifully detailed and dynamic visuals throughout the issue. I love the style and how the action, horror and humor all work visually.
